Connecting mobile phones to Mercedes Benz is a big problem. You can install cradles for some phones but with few supported models, your choice of telephones is very restricted. And choosing an official phone cradle is a complex task, as there are so many different ones. If you have two drivers, they need to use the same phone model and type. If you change your mobile phone, you need a new cradle. Even if you buy the official Bluetooth Mercedes cradle, you face extreme restrictions, and it only works with certain network carriers.

MB1000Viseeo MB1000

The Viseeo MBU-1000 imitates the shape of the old Nokia mobile phones which were used with the original Mercedes hands free system. Once inserted into the existing cradle, the MBU-1000 will be recognised as one of the Nokia phones. This means that it will fully integrate with the radio system and steering wheel controls. As the MBU-1000 is a Bluetooth adapter it is capable of storing up to 3 recently paired phones in its memory, with each phone having its own phonebook profile. When a phone is connected and in use the MBU-1000 will mute the radio system and the conversation will be conducted through the cars existing speakers and microphone.

  • The ViseeO MBU-1000 is the same size and shape as the original Nokia 6310/6210/6150 phone and fits straight into the existing cradle.

Viseeo MB-2

The ViseeO MB-2 is designed to work in all Mercedes vehicles with the UHI (or MHI) connector. You must have this connector in order to use the MB-2 . The UHI connector is generally found in cars made 2005 onwards, however can be found in earlier cars. The MB-2 simply clips onto the UHI connector in your car and you are ready to go. The UHI connector can be found in the centre arm rest of your car. Sometimes the UHI connector may be under a black plastic cap, or it may have a detachable phone cradle from Mercedes connected to it. Once this has been unclipped, the MB-2 will plug straight into the UHI connector.

The ViseeO MB3 is an upgraded ViseeO MB2 which provides Bluetooth telephone integration for Mercedes vehicles with the UHI/MHI exchangeable cradle phone system, and will stream music from the paired phone or a connected iPod to the car stereo via a FM transmitter. It also has a USB connection to connect and charge an iPod and a remote control for easy control of the iPod. The software can also be upgraded by the user to support new phones unlike the Mercedes solution. This works with all cars with the UHI connector, unlike the Mercedes Benz HFP cradle which echos in the older (around 2004) cars.
